Modern Tuscan Meets Timeless Concrete: A Trueform Project Feature
Perona Farms is a stunning collage of nature and architecture, nestled in the rolling hills of Andover, New Jersey. Family-owned for over a century, the property blends pastoral beauty with modern elegance—offering an unforgettable backdrop for bespoke weddings, private celebrations, and upscale gatherings.
From its historic barn structures to its glass-wrapped porticos and curated landscaping, every detail is designed to feel both timeless and deeply personal. In this latest transformation, Trueform Concrete was invited to contribute custom-crafted elements that seamlessly enhance the venues’ natural charm with a refined, contemporary edge.

When vision meets craftsmanship, the result is a space that doesn’t just welcome—it captivates. That was the intent behind the recent transformations of The Reserve and The Refinery—two stunning venues brought freshly to life at Perona Farms.
Through collaborative design, high-end materials, and custom concrete elements by Trueform Concrete, these spaces create atmosphere and transport visitors through thoughtful design.

A Vision Rooted in Warmth, Modernism & Natural Beauty
The design team behind this project set out to create a “modern Tuscan” ambience—inviting, open, and naturally elegant. The spaces were elevated by integrating lush, lifelike greenery, including a custom-fabricated tree framed by Trueform’s bespoke Woodform® Concrete in the Portale entryway.
This statement piece bridges architecture and nature, offering guests a moment of serenity as they enter. It’s not just decorative—it’s experiential.
The octagonal Woodform Concrete element surrounding the tree in the atrium was the first object of its kind for Trueform. “Our team had to fabricate eight individual pieces that were assembled on site and locked together using decorative metal fasteners,” said Paul Grech, Creative Director at Trueform.
Not only does it perfectly echo the elaborate beam structure above, but its concrete composition will resist any sort of warping, rotting, or splitting.
“The Woodform frames that surround our large tree in the Portale where our guests enter and are greeted are the perfect way to allow everyone to enjoy the fountains at the base of the tree,” the client noted.

Why Concrete? Why Trueform?
For both The Reserve and The Refinery, concrete offered a uniquely modern and versatile design solution. From restroom sinks and counters to bar tops and architectural surrounds, Trueform’s custom concrete elements introduced a tactile depth that complements the project's industrial warmth and Tuscan charm.

Concrete bartops (in the color Carbon) were utilized in three distinct areas of the project.
Carbon works really well in each setting because it’s both sophisticated and playful – enabling the overhead lights to dance off the surface. It also plays perfectly off the blackened steel beams, chairs, and other accents. “Perona’s design team cleverly thought this through,” said Grech.

Concrete sinks are strewn throughout the establishment in a multitude of shapes, sizes, colors and finishes – some of which feature offset basins, cut-outs for trash, and other custom features. They begin to demonstrate the range of options designers have when choosing to work with concrete.

“The sinks were perhaps our favorite contribution – primarily because of one of the chosen specialty finishes – Foundry,” said Grech.
The Carbon/Foundry combination creates a dark and sensual patina with a natural mottling that yields a subtle texture. When employed in the proper setting, it simply exudes decadence. Perona’s design team clearly got the memo - pairing it with gold hardware and amber lighting that really drives the atmosphere.

“We feel that the concrete element adds a modern touch to our spaces . . . it adds a fresh and timeless feel,” the Perona team shared.
A Trusted Partner Through Every Phase
This wasn’t the client’s first time working with Trueform—and it won’t be the last.
“We have been working with Trueform for years. They have always been great to work with. We’ve always appreciated and valued their expertise and professionalism, said a Perona Farms representative.”
“Delivery and installation were seamless. The overall experience exceeded expectations,” said the client.

Looking Ahead
“What was especially meaningful was how the client chose to employ concrete in a variety of disparate ways throughout the venue. Perona Farms is essentially a case study of the versatility of this material,” said Grech.
This project demonstrates how concrete can be both functional and stunning. And while this installation leaned into modern Tuscan and industrial aesthetics, the design teams are excited to explore alternative concrete finishes in future projects—expanding the creative canvas even further.
